Ahtna, Incorporated (AI) Ahtna, Inc. is one of 12 Alaska Native Regional Corporations established by Congress under terms of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act in 1971. Ahtna, Inc. owns in fee title approximately 1,528,000 acres conveyed in December 1998 from an entitlement of 1,770,000 acres. Seven of the eight villages within the Ahtna Region are merged with Ahtna, Inc., and all eight are Federally Recognized Tribes. A thirteen-member board directs corporate operations. Ahtna Inc. has approximately 1200 shareholders, of which the majority reside in the Copper River Region. Headquartered in Glennallen, Ahtna, Inc., is committed to providing a broad range of opportunities for its shareholders and preserving their Native culture. Ahtna, Inc. has ten operating subsidiaries. Subsidiaries are involved in government contracting, civil and vertical construction, pipeline maintenance, environmental remediation, surveying, facilities maintenance, administrative and janitorial services, food service contractors, tourism, forestry and gravel sales. AC, LLC is a viable competitive contractor within the Ahtna region and all of Alaska. AC, LLC has developed a shareholder work force and has successfully completed many projects. This wholly-owned 8(a) subsidiary specializes in governmental contracting and demolition. ADC received its 8(a)certification in 1994. ADC’s core businesses have been operations and maintenance (O&M), specializing in facilities management; information technology, records management, and simulation and training. In 2007, the corporation was realigned to focus on regional development with an emphasis on developing a tourism program and business opportunities within the Ahtna Region. Ahtna holds an 8(a) certification with the Alaska District of the Small Business Administration (SBA). This status qualifies AES as a small disadvantaged business entity (SDBE) and allows for unlimited value, sole source contracting. AES also holds an Alaska DOT&PF DBE certification. A forward pricing structure is used to provide services in construction, environmental, and professional support services, with a government approved accounting system.
